The video security industry is experiencing a dizzying array of solutions. The main difference besides after sales care is in the features one unit offers over another. At the root of it, digital Video recorders all function in the same fashion. Today everyone has a “perfect” digital Video recorder conversly if it was only about recording images on to hard drives, then $ 300 spent at Dell ™ or at Best Buy ™ to purchase a PC with a valid video card would be all you need to achieve this feat.
The true currency of this realm however is the final output and specifically the quality of images. Laying compressed data tracks on a hard drive or any other mass storage device is not difficult, getting consistent identifiable images which accurately reflect the event is quite another task. The other issue is the memory required for each image, the method used to compress the video and the management resources assigned to perform this action.
Early on in the DigiBank Security® and DigiMart Security® development stages we realized we could not address the security concerns for life, safety and protection of goods merely by improving on a single component, namely the digital Video recorder. Armed with this knowledge and having received valuable input from our clients over the years, we decided to reevaluate every component which encompasses a Video system.
The idea was to improve, replace or eliminate the compromises commonly found in analog, hybrid and or in purely digital systems. Along the way we not only explored the limitations of the applied sciences we researched the leading methodologies and philosophies in the application of Video security. This was accomplished while keeping in mind the strides networking solutions offered, the global economy, liability issues and the type of losses reported per sector of the economy.
Three years later and after having pushed many contemporary technological limits, a working concept emerged on a platform with ultra stable attributes. A major departure in the design was to first build a very flexible and modular platform unto which the correct components can be effectively added to reflect the specific project requirements.
Second the idea of passive recording with analog cameras and or using Video motion was rejected in favor of a dynamic approach where the DigiBank Security® system would be proactive vs. reactive to the events of concern. In our patented system a special DDE (Digital Dome Engine) physically tracks the movements of individuals and possesses the ability to zoom in and get the necessary details of the event while the subject is in motion, this regardless of lighting conditions or other types of limitations which would normally greatly reduce the performance of traditional systems.
This implies that we actively follow the transactions, exchanges and other relevant information with ultimate speed, agility and precision. This is performed via proprietary software which analyzes the scenes, the number or individuals in that scene and their position and interprets the results. This is communicated to the DDE in an almost symbiotic relationship. Every system we install is aligned, configured and programmed in a fashion which optimizes its performance for that specific location.
The clear advantage besides the fact we can replace a plethora of fixed cameras with a single DDE in 95% of the cases and the fact we can assign less processing power to manage the single input, we can now expect to see stunning digital images in which we can frame the faces, the upper body or any other area of interest of the individuals with revelatory details all in the pre processing domain.
The physical motion ability the DDE perfectly targets the areas of interest regardless of event location or individual position.The result is both fluid and intuitive. This new security dimensions has a track record of over 98% in successfully producing identifiable images and has proven the concept to be a solid performer. Additionally we have developed many concurrent products and services like DSD (Digital Security Diagnostics) and self healing hardware and software agents which maintain and promote this elevated performance level.
The applications are anywhere multiple points of transactions take place within a specific space. We excel in the financial institution market like banks where we have installed many hundreds of branches with thousands of cameras in North America. Other markets where we perform exceptionally well are airports, ticket counters, and many retail applications.
